Buyer / Scheduler (DC) - Hendrickson USA, L.L.C. : Job Details

Position Purpose:Primary focus will be to perform duties associated with the purchase / schedule of a widely diversified group of raw materials, components, finished parts, supplies, and services for customer demand, both internal and external.Essential Functions:•Review requisitions, analyzes for quantity, specifications, and delivery requirements. Determine method of procurement and prepare purchase order. •Carry out necessary follow-up and expediting activities to ensure delivery as required by production schedules.•Generate effective communications, good relations, and a positive image with suppliers and other departments•Provide effective communication on any issues to the Customer Service department and or other affected parties needed.•Maintain appropriate inventory levels with respect to customer demand.•Handle adjustments with vendors involving replacement of non-conforming materials, return of surplus materials and canceled orders. •Continually research means and methods to improve supplier quality and delivery.•Be responsible for MRO items including cost saving measures.•Continually research means and methods to improve supplier quality and delivery.•Evaluate suppliers through methods such as supplier visits and various objective performance measures, including on-time delivery, and service performance.Education and Training•Associates degree required •Bachelor's degree preferred•1+ years' experience with PC software applications (Excel and Word) requiredMinimum Qualifications•Understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), operational processes and capacity planning, required•Working knowledge of supply vs. demand in a manufacturing environment requiredHendrickson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
