Cable Technician (Onsite)

Location: Amarillo, Texas & Boys Ranch, TexasJob Type: Full-Time, Onsite

Position Summary:We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cable Technician to join our team. The Technician will install, maintain, and repair cable systems for data, voice, and video communications. This position involves working in residential, commercial, and industrial settings to ensure optimal network connectivity and the smooth operation of communication systems. This on-site role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Setup: Install, test, and maintain network cabling systems, including fiber optic, coaxial, and Ethernet cables.
  • System Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve cable-related issues, perform routine inspections, and ensure all repairs and installations comply with industry standards and safety protocols.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of installed equipment, cable layouts, and testing results, and provide detailed service reports for installations and repairs.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in networking or telecommunications is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Cable Technician or in a related field is advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with cable testing tools, diagnostic equipment, structured cabling systems, network configurations, troubleshooting techniques, and familiarity with fiber optics, coaxial cables, and low-voltage installations.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks in varying outdoor and environmental conditions.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, effective communication for client interactions and teamwork, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
