CAD Technician - Big Top Manufacturing : Job Details

Job Type Full-time Description A computer-aided design (CAD) technician uses CAD systems to create technical drawings for fabrication and engineered projects. The CAD Technician reports directly to the CAD Supervisor and General Manager. Supervisory Responsibilities: None FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Requirements Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Interact with Sales and CAD departments to modify drawings quickly and accurately during design and/or production process.
• Support all departments through a variety of tasks, including proposal drawings, foundation drawings, clearance drawings and engineered drawings.
• Prepare installation documents; coordinate document distribution to vendors, customers, and job sites.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• 2 years' experience in AutoCAD and/or Micro-Station or 3 years' experience working in multiple departments within Big Top Manufacturing.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Thorough understanding of industry drafting standards and practices.
• Time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Team player; ability to collaborate with dynamic engineering and manufacturing team.
• Must be trainable and eager to learn.
• Knowledge of product and fabrication process is preferred, but not required if the candidate has a strong background in computer software.
• Some travel; requires valid driver's license.

Education & Experience:

• Associates degree in Computer-Aided Drafting; relevant experience may substitute for education requirement.
• One year's experience in installation of company's product is preferred; must be willing to travel to gain necessary experience.

Physical Demands:

• Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery, such as copiers, printers, and telephones.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 95% of the time.
• Normal work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 am - 5:00 pm. Overtime may be required.
• Must be able to accurately exchange information with co-workers, management, vendors, and customers.
