Essential Job Functions:Cooks food and prepares drinks according to menus and recipes
  • Understand and adhere to all recipes.
  • Remain alert to all team members and helps team out when needed.
  • Consult daily menus and prep sheets to determine which food will be cooked for the day.
  • Use all kitchen equipment appropriately.
Organizes food preparation
  • Ensure that food and drinks are ready at the proper time and temperature.
  • Organize food and drinks to be served.
Follows Food Code standards for preparing, handling, serving and storing food
  • Check and record temperatures of food to ensure that it is served at correct temperatures.
  • Cool food according to the Kansas Food Code.
  • Prepare, cook and store food under appropriate temperatures and with safe food handling techniques.
  • Cook food and prepare drinks in a manner to conserve nutritive value, flavor, appearance and texture.
Uses food and supplies appropriately to maintain budget
  • Understand and follow food portion controls.
  • Avoid wasting food or supplies
  • Clean in assigned areas.
  • Keep all kitchen equipment clean and in good working order.
Cleans and sanitizes food preparation areas
  • Help wash dishes and put them away.
  • Complete cleaning schedules.
  • Use good sanitation practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and handle basic cash transactions.
  • Must have a positive attitude and provide great customer service.
  • Must enjoy working with the elderly and be able to understand their needs.
  • Must be able to speak and write English.
Physical Requirements:Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
