This will provide our students the necessary skills to be responsible citizens, to lead to happy, productive lives and to meet the exciting challenges of the 21st century.Oversees and participates in food preparation and service activities at a large volume school with a complete kitchen that may provide food services to other locations. Performs food preparation duties according to a variety of planned menus, recipes, and the number of persons to be served. Oversees food preparation and cooks meals in large quantities for various school sites and satellite locations. Maintains an inventory of food, determines quantity of food required, and makes the appropriate orders. Maintains food service records in compliance with state and federal requirements.The Cafeteria Team Leader is a working supervisor over other food services employees. Incumbents at this level require a background sufficient to organize work for, and lead a food service staff at a school with a larger student population, prepare varied menus, and integrate food production for delivery to other sites.* Organizes, sequences, and supervises food production. Assigns work orders to food service staff who are attending specific food production stations that include, but are not limited to those used for cooking, processing, packaging, sterilizing, and washing.* Ensures adequate food product to meet projected quantities. Works from reports of projected meal volumes to determine the food product to produce the required number of meals.* Provides and coordinates training of food service staff include newly appointed supervisors. Works with employees to enhance skills and work organization.* Prepares and maintains various records and reports on operations and activities including inventory, personnel, sales, meals served, monies collected, requisitions, daily reports, work schedules and production sheets.* Recommends and assists in the implementation of department goals and objectives. Implements policies and procedures.* Monitors the preparation, serving and storage of food to ensure compliance with District and sanitation requirements.* Supervises and participates in the serving of hot lunches to students and teachers. Participates in the preparation of main dishes, baked goods and other food items.* Supervises and participates in preparing catered food items for special events, officialproceedings, and meetings. Consults with administrators on quantity and type of food items, determines price, and oversees timely preparation and delivery.* Assures cleanliness and maintenance of equipment and food service supplies.* Evaluates levels of food inventory and after reviewing projected numbers of meal orders. May store and evaluate inventory for other school sites. Assures cleanliness and maintenance of food production equipment. participates in cleaning and maintaining equipment.* Conducts periodic performance reviews of food services staff. Consults with cooks/team leaders and meets with staff to review past and plan for future performance.* Determines and prepares institutional quantities of main course meals, sequencing items to optimize presentation and quality.* Sets up serving and sales areas for students, teachers and other personnel.* Performs a variety of food service duties as needed to assure timely preparation and service.* Attends meetings related to the food service operation.* Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.* ResumeComments and Other InformationYour submission of this on-line application authorizes the school to conduct a background investigation and authorizes release of information in connection with my application for employment.
