Cage Wash Technician - The McConnell Group : Job Details

The McConnell Group (TMG), , a health science company, has an opening for a full-time CAGEWASH TECHNICIAN to provide support in a university animal facility. The Cagewash Technician is expected to be on site from 7:00AM to 3:30PM, Monday-Friday. Position Duties:

Handling animal cages and waste

Dumping/prepping cages for cage washing

Operating the cage washer and/or cabinet washer

Preparing clean cages (both disposable and regular caging) and autoclaving supplies

Keeping track of cage inventory and communicating with leadership to ensure a ready supply of cage components

Running bioindicators as needed to validate sanitization processes

Conducting basic facility maintenance to include sweeping, mopping, stocking supplies, and laundry

Ensuring a safe and inclusive work environment per company and university policies

Properly and routinely using protective gear, such as safety shoes, scrubs, goggles, and hearing protection, as needed

Keep up to date with training and policy changes

Minimum Qualification:

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

Familiarity with Windows computers, Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Google suite (Gmail, Google Chat, Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, Google Calendar, Google Drive)

Must be capable of passing lab safety and other training courses

Pass a pre-hire background check and drug screening

Must be able to stand, sit, twist, pull, push, and lift with ease

Must be able to operate heavy machinery and lift items weighing 30+ pounds
