About the Role: We are looking for an independent, detail-oriented Calibration Specialist to manage and maintain the calibration of gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools across four locations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind a computer, organizing data, and implementing process improvements. You'll be responsible for keeping track of calibration schedules, scanning in newly calibrated equipment, and ensuring everything is in top condition for our teams. Additionally, you'll spend about 25% of your time working on longer-term projects aimed at improving the efficiency and automation of the Calibration Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and organize calibration records, gauges, and documents through our gauge calibration program.
  • Perform setup, maintenance, and repairs of measuring and test equipment.
  • Coordinate all internal and external equipment calibrations.
  • Generate reports and analyze data using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Monitor and track calibration due dates, keeping the Operations and Quality teams informed.
  • Conduct in-house calibrations using precision measuring equipment and standard hand tools.
  • Develop new measurement techniques and controls for the lab.
  • Collaborate with management and production staff on continuous improvement projects.
  • Travel between multiple sites to collect and return gauges.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience working in a plant or shop floor environment. Experience in industries such as automotive, aerospace, medical device, injection molding, machine building, or component manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Basic Excel skills for tracking metrics and data.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a quality-related position working with measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
  • Knowledge of ISO-certified environments.
  • A desire to grow into a lead or supervisory role.
