Campus Custodian Pool - Gatesville Independent School District (TX) : Job Details

Gatesville ISD keeps an open pool of applications for custodians on our website. Future openings will be filled from the pool of applicants. The applications are made available to the Maintenance Director for review, and will be kept on file for one year.State law requires that all school employees must be fingerprinted.Primary purpose is to maintain safe, clean, and attractive facilities.Qualifications:Prior custodial experience preferredAbility to communicate both verbally and in writingSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety proceduresAbility to operate cleaning equipmentAbility to properly handle cleaning suppliesDuties:Demonstrate thoroughness, reliability, and a degree of accuracy in performing work assignmentsWork cooperatively and maintain positive attitudes in the work environmentHave good attendance and use time productively on the jobFollow District policies, rules and regulationsDemonstrate courtesy and helpfulness in dealing with staff, students, parents, and visitors to the facilityMaintain a cleaning schedule that will include cleaning of floors, chalkboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, and restroomsKeep school building and grounds, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas, neat and cleanAssist with opening and closing building each school dayFollow established procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilitiesUse equipment and cleaning supplies properly and safelyOperate tools and equipment according to established safety proceduresFollow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediatelyPerform other duties that may be assigned by the building Principal, the building Head Custodian, or the Maintenance DirectorReporting Supervisor:Building PrincipalMaintenance DirectorHead CustodianEquipment Used:Buffer, stripper, wet and dry vacuum cleaner, shampooerWorking Conditions:Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental FactorsThis job will require working with hands, standing and walking for long periods, climbing, and heavy lifting and carrying. Exposure to damp conditions, hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials. Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces, and ladders.
