South Middle School

South Middle School is looking for a Campus Supervisor to to ensure that the school building and grounds are maintained as positive, safe learning and working environments for students, staff, parents and visitors. This position works with school administration to help monitor the school site and address challenges, problems and emergencies in both a preventive and responsive manner. The ideal candidate will be able to develop relationships with students, have strong people skills and the ability to remain calm during stressful situations.

Primary Duties:

* Monitor students' first hour tardiness and single period truancies and referring them to the principal in accordance with the handbook of student conduct.

* Monitors external walkways, parking lots, lobbies, entryways, internal hallways, restrooms and lunchrooms and report violations of school policy to the assistant principal or appropriate person.

* Provide supervision during daily arrivals and dismissals.

* Make referrals involving student misconduct or duress to the appropriate administrator.

* Respond to problems in the building as directed by the administrators.

* Intervene in student conflicts and/or fights in a safe and professional manner.

* Direct the flow of people and traffic as necessary.

* Serve as an active member on the school's crisis team.

* Assist in the school's response and provide direction to staff and students for fire alarms, tornado alarms, intruder response, and similar incidents requiring active responses with little or no advance warning.

Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or equivalent.

* Background of training and experience in the following areas is preferred: firefighter, emergency medical technician, police or security, the military, or school discipline.

* Ability to complete the requirements to obtain CPR and AED certification.

* Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical attributes necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.

* Ability to operate a computer and applicable software relevant to the position to include the district's camera system.

Wages: Classified salary schedule; range 19 ($17.88/hr - $18.96/hr) starting wage.
