Primary Purpose

The Office of College Advancement & COCC Foundation is recruiting for a frontline fundraiser who will advance strong philanthropic relationships and fundraising outcomes around the COCC Madras campus expansion campaign. This role will collaborate with other college advancement employees to plan and implement solicitation strategies, support events and outreach, and other activities to generate interest and drive philanthropic investment into the expansion of advancement and foundation initiatives. Initial focus will be on the Growing Together campaign.

This position will be required to work at least 16-20 hours/week on the COCC Madras campus, and the remainder of the work week may be worked remotely in Central Oregon.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

+ Organize fund development and set team fundraising goals for the Madras campus expansion campaign.

+ Develop and maintain strong identification, qualification, engagement, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship approaches for Madras campus expansion campaign.

+ Attend and assist with development-related events primarily in and around Jefferson County, but at times in other areas of the COCC District.

+ Plan, organize and conduct face-to-face visits, community presentations.

+ Coordinate external relationship management with donors/prospects in Jefferson County.

+ Positively represent COCC in public and professional ways.

+ Other duties as assigned

+ Demonstrated proficiency with technology, including experience using Microsoft Office.

+ Experience with donor databases, preferably Blackbaud/Raisers Edge.

+ Demonstrate reliable, regular, and predictable work attendance.

Ergonomic Requirements

Regular office hours are established between 8 am 5 pm during the workweek. A flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends, may be necessary due to the nature of the responsibilities.

Incumbent must be able to function effectively indoors in an office environment engaged in work of primarily a sedentary nature. Requires the ability to work at a workstation for extended periods. Requires to write, read written materials and computer screens, and ability to use telephonic conversations. Occasional lifting up to 25lbs. All individuals are required to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

+ Bachelors degree in business, education, communication, or related field.

Experience:

+ Three years of relevant fundraising experience, including proven success in working with high net-worth donors and securing large private gifts and grants.

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

+ Masters degree in business, education, communication, or related field.

+ Certified Fund-Raising Executive ( CFRE )

Experience:

+ Experience in higher education preferred, mainly fundraising for a large, public institution or comparably complex organization with multiple stakeholders.
