Base pay range

$350,000.00/yr - $550,000.00/yr

Our Client is a privately held alternative investment firm currently seeking a VP for their growing Alternatives platform. Ideal individual will step into the leading role, with a focus on commercial real estate specifically underwriting (credit/debt) investments.

Firm is looking for a key contributor for capital formation function, consisting of investor due diligence, investment presentation, separate account management, and prospect pitches. Your role will include leading the development & management of CRE Structured Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the fundamental due diligence and analytical effort during the insurance transaction process.
  • Collaborate with investment teams to define, develop, and optimize asset strategies in a broad range of Real Estate related fixed-income asset classes.
  • Primary point of contact for current and prospective insurance company clients.
  • Design investment and risk management frameworks and execute the implementation of the associated analytics, utilizing insurance-specific considerations.
  • Negotiate and close debt financings across various collateral types & lenders.
  • Perform strategic and tactical asset allocations and redeployment plans; develop investment governance framework across insurance company enterprise.
  • Source investment opportunities for a variety of lenders, including insurance companies.
  • Develop compelling value propositions and market leading products and services based on customer needs in the specific Insurance industry best practice.
  • Develop a network of contacts in the industry through deal negotiations, due diligence activities and attendance at industry conferences and other networking opportunities.
  • Create key presentations for insurance company clients, rating agencies, and investors.
  • Develop and maintain portfolio models, performance & risk analytics, and other relevant monitoring / reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with our Research, Engineering, Legal, Compliance and Finance teams to take products from conceptualization to launch. Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy that leverages our capabilities to create innovative solutions.

What you need to succeed:

  • 10+ years of experience in the alternative investment industry.
  • 10+ years of experience in selling and delivering portfolio management services to clients, ideally in the Insurance/Financial Services sector.
  • CFA designation is strongly recommended; MBA/MFE (or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in building trusted advisor relationships within Insurance business in relevant insurance markets, private equity, private credit/insurance vertical M&A.
  • Highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and team-oriented candidates with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • An ability to work through others to influence outcomes, as well as a willingness to “roll-up your sleeves” to get things done.
  • Track record of successfully building growth plans and accelerating business development within Insurance vertical.
  • Knowledge of broad asset classes across the investment spectrum.
  • Ability to cultivate strong working relationships across various functional areas (Investments, ALM, Treasury, Risk and Finance).
