UW Medicine Supply Chain Management has an outstanding opportunity for a CAPITAL PORTFOLIO MANAGER.
WORK SCHEDULE: 100% FTE, Days
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
Acts as a resource with all appropriate department managers in individual hospitals and at the system level to develop, coordinate and integrate capital cost management processes programs into departmental services by assisting with program development, data collection and analysis, implementation, monitoring and follow-up.Facilitates and leads system and entity specific Capital projects related to UW Medicine Supply Chain and Capital Services process improvement, enhanced quality, and cost savings projects across UW Medicine including; Harborview Medical Center, Valley Medical Center, University of Washington Medical Center NW & ML, UW Primary Care Clinics, Airlift Northwest, and Shared Services.DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: UW Medicine Supply Chain's objective is to ensure our patient care experience is enhanced by delivering a robust foundation of services, operational and technical support, and the sharing of comprehensive, relevant, and highly specialized supply chain management expertise. This includes a primary focus on customer service, as well as maintaining appropriate levels of general, medical, and surgical supplies throughout each facility.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with key stakeholders to develop effective capital equipment strategies and implementation plans.Serves as the liaison between vendors and departments supporting RFX and or needs assessments.Serves as a facilitator and liaison between finance, administration, departments, and staff to ensure cost-effective selection of capital equipment and when applicable related products, technologies, services, and processes.Maintain and in close coordination with UWM Finance and hospital/clinic leadership; a value analysis project tracker for capital equipment projects associated savings.Coordinates or facilitates reoccurring system capital equipment value analysis meetings with (as appropriate) finance staff and leadership, individual hospital leads/professionals, administrators, project managers, departmental heads, etc.Compiles and analyzes data to identify opportunities for improved capital equipment purchases and related supply, service utilization, standardization, focusing on equipment life cycle, end of life equipment removal including but not limited to equipment trade-ins, sales, and UW surplus; evaluates findings and reports and makes recommendations.Financial analysis and modeling of total capital equipment acquisition costs including any initial or ongoing related consumables (products) and/or services.Leads vendor negotiating strategy from a business perspective to standardize processes ensuring collaboration with finance staff and leadership, individual hospital leads/professionals, administrators, project managers, departmental heads, with the goal of reducing overall costs and risk.Coordinates and monitors activities of strategic suppliers to ensure conformance with contractual obligations; and identifies opportunities for process improvement, service enhancement equipment life cycle, end of life equipment removal including but not limited to equipment trade-ins, sales, and UW surplus.Completes, and show evidence of certification, for all Department of Enterprise Services (DES) Training Modules, required by UW Medicine Supply Chain, as described in RCW 39.26.110 prior to executing or managing contracts.Manage projects as assigned. Lead process improvement efforts as assigned. Leads project teams of non-direct reports consisting of Supply Chain staff and stakeholders, direct, and manage non-labor contracting for UW Medicine Clinical Operations.Works closely with members of the UW Medicine Supply Chain Leadership team, finance staff and leadership, individual hospital leads/professionals, administrators, project managers, departmental heads, etc. to ensure that projects are selected and managed in the best overall interests of UW Medicine.REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
