Care's mission is to provide access to quality health care for Los Angeles County's vulnerable and low-income communities and residents.The Care Management Business Data Analyst II supports quality, compliance, and process improvement activities by producing Care Management (CM) measurements used for internal and external reporting. This includes data quality assurance, data-driven business process programming, test plan and requirement specification documentation, and report development.The position applies technical skills to design, develop, test, and generate ad hoc or production reports, which may evolve into complex data analysis/data integration projects or routine reports. The position works closely with Information Technology teams and CM leaders for accurate report production.The position interprets and documents both written and verbal technical specifications, including regulatory and business requirements, and collaborates with appropriate CM staff to deliver performance data for SQL data queries.This position applies business analytical skills to review regulatory and business requirements, understand data needs, and conduct assessments of existing business and data processes for optimization. It supports quality improvement activities through ad hoc, monthly, or quarterly reports.Duties
  • Investigate and document organizational data flow and sources.
  • Develop analytical programs, databases, and routine procedures using SQL programming language.
  • Design, develop, and generate routine and ad hoc/production reports.
  • Maintain complex ongoing data projects and produce accurate analysis.
  • Communicate and work with essential and supporting departments regarding project details.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.Education RequiredBachelor's Degree in Healthcare Analytics or related field. In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.Education PreferredMaster's Degree in Healthcare Analytics or related field.ExperienceRequired:
  • At least 3 years of health care experience in data analysis or similar capacity.
  • Experience generating reports using health care data.Preferred:
  • At least 2 years of work experience in health plan.SkillsRequired:
  • Proficiency in MS Access, Excel, SSMS, Visio, or Lucid, PowerPoint software.
  • Basic SQL programming skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with professionals in technical and clinical fields.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze datasets in relational database environment.Preferred:
