ABOUT INSTITUTO FAMILIAR DE LA RAZA

Instituto Familiar de la Raza, Inc. is a multi-service community health and social service agency with emphasis in serving the Chicanx/Latinx/Indígenx community in San Francisco. Services include a wide range of mental health and behavioral health, HIV-related services, and social services including health promotion, education, prevention, early intervention, case management, support groups, cultural interventions, and social and spiritual engagement. IFR serves children, youth, adults and families, and multiple subpopulations, including youth, the Indígena, and LGBTQ+ youth and adults. The organization has a rich history of working collaboratively with other agencies to meet the needs of the Chicanx/Latinx/Indígenx community and other cultural/racial communities in San Francisco.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Chicano/Latino Family Resource system (FRS) is a collaborative project of four community agencies. The project's purpose is to combine the efforts and staff of the collaborating agencies to develop prevention, early intervention, and intensive case management programs and services which reinforce family preservation with high risk families residing in the Mission District and Chicano/Latino families throughout San Francisco. The Differential Response (DR) program within FRS, works with the Human Services Agency to provide services to families referred to child welfare and in need of additional support.

Essential Job Duties are:

  • Provides short-term case management and crisis intervention services to families who meet program criteria
  • Monitors participant progress and provides follow-up as needed
  • Maintains confidential records and follows FRS guidelines
  • Completes monthly reports and in-put data
  • Attends case consultation and training sessions twice a month
  • Participates in Red Team or CFT meetings
  • Participates in FFPSA Evidence Based Implementation meeting
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the FRC program; community outreach and support FRC activities as needed

Required Skills

  • Bilingual in English & Spanish
  • Experience providing social services to Chicano/Latino families
  • Understanding of case management practices with immigrant populations
  • Ability to work on a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge and sensitivity to issues of diversity in the Latino/Chicano community including that of gender, race, language, sexual orientation and socio-economic status

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

Bachelor's degree in social sciences or a comparable combination of education and training in the areas of social welfare, child development, and/or community advocacy.

COMPENSATION

This is a full time position with benefits; with a starting hourly range of $27.08 - $29.94 Commensurate with work experience, qualifications, and education. All full-time positions are based on a minimum of (35) thirty-five hours per week.

This is a full-time exempt position at 35 hours a week. The position is eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision, and 403(b) plans, earn vacation, sick leave, paid holidays, two wellness days (birthday and hire date) and receive ongoing opportunities for learning.
