The transition from high school to adulthood can be challenging, but with the right support, students can navigate this journey with confidence. At Sycamore Services, our Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) program empowers students to explore their career interests, gain valuable work experience, and prepare for a successful future.As a Career Coach, you will play a key role in guiding students through this important transition by providing personalized coaching, facilitating work-based learning experiences, and helping students build the skills they need to thrive in the workplace and beyond. If you're a motivated, compassionate advocate for students with disabilities, this is your opportunity to inspire and shape the future of the next generation!Key Responsibilities:
  • Career Exploration & Development: Guide students in exploring career options, developing workplace skills, and preparing for post-secondary education.
  • Collaboration: Act as the primary contact within schools, working with VRS and school staff to identify eligible students, provide resources, and create work-based learning opportunities.
  • Support & Advocacy: Connect students and families with resources, including benefits planning and community support services. Advocate for students' needs to ensure successful transitions.
  • Data & Reporting: Track and report student progress, ensuring accurate data collection and submission.
  • Training & Professional Development: Participate in team meetings, stay current on transition practices, and assist school staff with training and support.
RequirementsQualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field, preferred. Relevant experience may qualify as a substitute to a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities, particularly in transition or employment services.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of transition practices and benefits planning (or willingness to learn).
  • Valid driver's license and ability to lift 35 pounds.
