Summary:
The Biotechnology Research Internship is an opportunity for the intern to expand and refine their research skills, hands-on laboratory skills, and communication skills by working on an industry-sponsored research project. This collaborative research project will be done under the direction of an industry mentor and an academic coordinator/mentor. The intern will work independently to design and perform hands-on experiments and to communicate research findings to all partners.
This internship is a part time MCCC foundation funded temporary 15 week position.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with academic advisors and industry mentor to design and perform hands-on experiments to further the project research goals.
* Document and communicate the data, results, and status of project to the industry partner and academic advisors.
* Develop final summary report of all research project results.
* Collaborate with industry mentor and academic advisors.
Requirements:
* Pursuing or completed a degree (AAS) or certificate in Biotechnology, or related field.
* Familiarity with standard biotechnology laboratory skills and protocols.
* Familiarity with cell culture and cell-based assay.
* Familiarity with laboratory automation and management software.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
* Availability on the Blue Bell campus.
