Career Opportunities: CoPack QA Technician (47162)Requisition ID 47162 - Posted - Permanent - College / Bachelors DegreeThe CoPack Quality Assurance Technician will ensure the quality assurance program policies and procedures are followed at Sigma US and Co-Pack Facilities for product lines including but not limited to bacon, ham, sausages, cheeses, and other products. This position will ensure navigation, completion, and retention of all aspects incorporated with the exportation of all company exports to all current and future international countries.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSRespond to requests from internal departments; help resolve any issues that arise from the various areas/departments/individuals.Assist with auditing new and current copackers and 3rd party warehouse services including but not limited to requesting letters and reviewing documents and forms for both onsite audits and desk audits.Investigate and communicate consumer complaints/issues; follow-up to ensure root cause and corrective action.Inspect and perform quality assurance for US products to ensure products meet company specifications and quality standards.Set up new quality programs to support traceability and innovation; conduct exercises to ensure proper procedures, checks, and balances have been completed prior to the production of any new products.Create reports to identify and track various types of trends among Co-Packers.Inspect new products to ensure internal specifications are met; perform checks for product quality and food safety based on current industry standards and regulations.Design, implement, and maintain the export process in the Denton operation with USCS personnel.Record management of all import and export documentation and serve as company liaison with FSIS and FDA personnel including but not limited to inspecting export loads.Other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAssociate degree in Food or Animal Science or two (2) years' work-related experience.Current and valid state driver's license.Four (4) years' work-related experience.Preferred QualificationsN/AWorking knowledge of the manufacturing process of the food industry.Demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of the organization, present complex ideas concisely, and clearly articulate ideas verbally and in writing.Proven ability to build professional relationships with Co-pack vendors.Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONSPeriodic exposure to unfavorable conditions because of unavoidable needs to be in variable temperatures or wet environments.Able to travel up to 60% of the time, including overnight stays for up to 5 days at a time.Ability to work in an office and plant environment with exposure to noise, equipment, and machinery.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSUsual plant environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing.Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of machinery and equipment.Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office levels to loud levels due to equipment and machinery uses.#J-18808-Ljbffr
