This role supports both undergraduate and graduate students in navigating their career paths and engaging in valuable experiences that foster a purpose-driven life.Job Responsibilities* Career Planning and Advisement: Guide students in designing and implementing career plans that align with their personal strengths and values, ensuring a foundation for lifelong opportunities and well-being.* Resource Utilization: Assist students in using online tools such as personality assessments and strength finders to discover their passions and explore potential career paths that match their skills, values, and interests.* Internship and Experiential Learning Coordination: Facilitate connections between students and valuable internship and experiential learning opportunities to enhance practical experience.* Partnership Development: Collaborate with faculty, alumni, and employers to develop projects that enhance career opportunities for students at MIU.* Workshop Leadership: Develop and conduct workshops on various career-related topics, including professional communication and networking strategies, interview techniques, entrepreneurship, and appreciative inquiry.* Course Instruction: Periodically update and teach a two-week Career Strategies course, tailoring content to current job market trends and student needs.Job Qualifications* A bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree is preferred.* 3-5 years of experience in career services or a related field within higher education administration is preferred. Alternatively, significant experience in business with proven leadership and problem-solving skills.* A solid understanding of career services best practices, or the ability to research and apply these practices effectively to meet both student needs and departmental objectives.* Strong ability to engage with diverse student populations, exceptional patience, compassion, and effective listening and communication skills.
