Caregiver - Home Care Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Caregiver for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities
$500 Sign-On Bonus (Restrictions Apply)
Direct Support Professionals work with individuals through providing support with social activities and daily tasks.
Flexible schedules with bi-weekly pay. High School Diploma or GED, First Aid/CPR certification, and a valid driver's license are required.
Summary
The Home Care Direct Support Professional (DSP) will provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in home and community-based settings. The DSP will provide positive assistance and support to individuals by ensuring health, safety, and successful achievement of goals according to each person's Individual Service Plan.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Participate in the individual's Service Plan meetings if requested to do so by the individual and the team of supports.
2. Perform tasks and duties according to the individual's goals stated in the Service Plan. Prioritize, maintain, and document on assistance provided to achieve the goals outlined in the Service Plan.
3. Maintain a clean and safe environment and be sensitive to the consumer and family's needs.
4. Recognize and report any changes in the individual's health, behavior, and safety.
5. Provide basic personal care and grooming, including bathing, care of the hair, and assistance with clothing and other hygiene needs according to the Service Plan.
6. Perform household services essential to the consumer's health and comfort in the home (e.g. necessary changing of bed linens or rearranging of furniture to facilitate ease of movement in the home), according to the Service Plan.
7. Perform, when necessary, homemaking tasks such as cooking including (feeding if necessary) cleaning, laundry and shopping. Will also be required to accompany customer to medical appointments, on walks/outings and other like appointments, according to the Service Plan.
8. Assist individuals in exploring and participating in community activities, including providing transportation in either personal or company vehicles.
9. Maintain client confidentiality as required by HIPPA Regulations.
10. Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
11. Comply with all Agency policies, procedures and safety standards throughout work areas and maintain same to meet CARF, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards.
Tier 1 specific responsibilities:
1. Follow monthly staffing schedule provided by supervisor.
2. Provide services to individuals living independently or in a group home.
3. Specifically provide services in the community or in the individual's home.
4. Maintain basic knowledge of technology.
5. Provide routine feedback, updates, and changes regrading services to supervisor in order to be shared with individual's support teams by completing proper documentation and comments on goal progress.
6. Complete required service and goal documentation routinely.

Education Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Required to maintain CPR and First Aid Certifications.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 2 years' experience preferred within the Developmental Disabilities field and/or demonstrated experience in providing supports to others.

Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.

3. Must be willing to take training in the field of DD, Aging or other related area.

5. Ability to deal with daily operational challenges in a fast-paced environment.
6. Must have basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
7. Must possess excellent customer service, organizational, writing, and reading skills.
8. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well with a broad spectrum of people; including consumers, referral source and consumer family.
9. Must be self-motivated.
