We are an agency that supports people with intellectual disabilities. We are looking for AWESOME people to come work with our AWESOME individuals! These positions are located in homes in the Gardendale area of Birmingham. We are hiring dependable, caring and compassionate employees for positions in our community-based group homes for people with intellectual disabilities. You will be responsible for coordinating and conducting individual and group recreational activities as well as assisting and training individuals in performing daily living functions. Our Caregivers are Direct Support Professionals. NO PRIOR TRAINING OR EXPERIENCE NEEDED! The primary qualification for this job is that you be a responsible, caring, safety-conscious person willing to learn on the job. Responsibilities: • Assists and supports individuals in the implementation of their Individual Support Plans (ISP's) and activity schedules. • Assists and supports individuals in performing daily living functions. • Assist and supports individuals in all housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and pleasant living environment. • Monitor individuals and the surroundings for appropriate safety and health care practices. • Assist, coordinates and transports individuals to recreational activities in their homes and in the community. • Completes documentation regarding programming, health and safety, comprehensive assessments, and other areas as assigned. • Monitors individuals and their environment for any change in health, mental well-being, and behavioral well-being. • Assist and supports individuals in implementing their Behavioral Support Plans as developed. RequirementsQualifications and Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current, valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check, drug screening & TB test
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English
  • Must be able to maintain the ability to stretch, push, pull, kneel, reach, twist, walk or stand up to eight hours and able to perform the requirements of Physical Care.
