We offer a broad spectrum of social and support services, catering to the Jewish community and individuals and families from diverse backgrounds and beliefs.JFSA is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counselor/Therapist to join our team. This OFFICE-BASED role involves providing therapeutic services to individuals and families, addressing a range of emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. The ideal candidate will exhibit:
  • A strong commitment to cultural competence serving clients and families with diverse backgrounds and beliefs.
  • A genuine interest in working with older adults, individuals diagnosed with chronic mental illness, and those with co-occurring developmental disabilities.
  • An ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team environment, including psychiatry, mental health case management, and behavioral health nursing services.
  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Providing individual counseling services to adults including older adults, individuals with persistent mental illness, and those with developmental disabilities.
    • Conducting thorough assessments to understand clients' needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
    • Implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to clients' unique circumstances.
    • Maintaining accurate and confidential client records.
    • Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and professional development activities.

    • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
    • Current licensure in the State of Ohio (LPC, LPCC, LISW, or LSW). Independent licensure strongly preferred.
    • Experience working with older adults and/or individuals with persistent mental illness and developmental disabilities.
    • Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques and interventions relevant to the target population.
    • Commitment to cultural competence and sensitivity to the values and traditions of the Jewish community.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse clients.
