THE POSITION
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is seeking to fill a Carpenter 2 position at Centre Regional Office in Centre County. In this position, you will be working for an environmental agency that supports the mission to protect, conserve and enhance the Commonwealth's aquatic resources and provide fishing and boating opportunities. You will leave work each day knowing that you have played a part in helping provide recreational outdoor opportunities for individuals and families that enjoy Pennsylvania waterways and natural resources. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
An employee in this position performs skilled carpentry work in the construction and maintenance of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) statewide buildings and infrastructure. You will perform all phases of building construction work including preparing foundation, pouring footings and walls, setting door frames, setting metal studs, drywalling, and painting. Additional duties include pouring floors and slabs, setting frame walls, joists, rafter, trusses, finishing exterior and interior walls, ceilings, and finish work. You may also be required to assist with electrical and plumbing when needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment.
+ Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Five years of experience in the construction, installation, repair, restoration, or maintenance of structures and articles made from wood, composite, and wood substitute materials including two years performing skilled carpentry work in commercial, industrial, or multi-unit residential structures;or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training including two years performing skilled carpentry work in commercial, industrial, or multi-unit residential structures.
Necessary Special Requirement:
+ This position requires possession of a valid Non-commercial Class C Driver's License.
Additional Requirements:
+ Must be willing and able to work in adverse weather conditions.
+ Must be willing to be called in to work outside of scheduled working hours in emergency situations.
+ Must be able to work occasional weekends.
+ Must be willing and able to travel; overnight travel is required.
+ You must be able to perform essential job functions.
