I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Selects specified type of lumber or other materials.
2. Prepares layout. Marks cutting and assembly lines on materials.
3. Shapes materials to prescribed measurements.
4. Assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together with nails, dowel pins, or glue.
5. Verifies trueness of structure with plumb bob and carpenter's level. Builds and lays out and install partitions and millwork. Applies shock-absorbing, sound-deadening, and decorative paneling to ceilings and walls.
6. Fits and installs prefabricated window frames, doors, doorframes, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware, such as locks, maildrops, and kick plates.
7. Constructs, forms and chutes for pouring concrete.
8. Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
9. Operates hand tools using care and follows operating procedures.
10. Familiar with the aspects of remodeling and renovations of areas.
11. Ability to determine and understand aspects of demolition procedures.
12. Works with and properly applies Plastic Laminates.
13. Assists in the storage of delivered building materials and associated items.
14. Competently installs door and window frames.
15. Performs duties as necessary to maintain Harrington Memorial Hospital, property as a safe environment for patients, employees and general public.

License/Certification/Education:
Required:
1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Experience/Skills:
Required:
1. three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
