KRM Construction LLC is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of carpentry tasks that require a solid understanding of building techniques, as well as a keen eye for detail. As a Carpenter, you will work on a diverse range of projects, from residential to commercial, and will play an integral part in ensuring that all construction meets industry standards and client specifications. You will have the opportunity to apply your hands-on skills, while also collaborating with other tradespeople and contractors. The potential targeted range for this position is $24 - 28 per hour. Join us and be a part of a team that values your contributions and supports your goals!Responsibilities: Framing and construction of residential and commercial buildings Install windows, doors, and other fixtures Dig trenches, set braces and prepare job sites Measure, cut, and shape wood using manual and power tools Perform carpentry tasks such as sanding, painting, and staining Perform basic framing layout to include layout of sill plates, floor joists, walls, door and window openings, ceiling joists and trusses Hang drywall Install floors, walls and roof sheathing Calculate, prepare and build window/door headers Install interior trim (casings, baseboards, window and door extension jambs) Install cabinets, countertops, and other carpentry-related items Help in the preparation and cleanup of job sites Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment Other duties as assignedCompetencies: High school diploma or equivalent degree required; completion of formal apprenticeship program or vocational school/technical college preferred Solid understanding of building materials including windows, doors, cabinets, etc., and the ability to recognize dimensional lumber, various types of sheathing, and trim Familiarity with the basics of framing construction, including identifying bearing points and verifying layout accuracy Capable of installing and properly sealing windows, exterior and interior doors, and trim Proficient knowledge of essential hand tools like hammer, square, level, razor knife, and tape measure Sound understanding of various fasteners, including different sizes and types of nails, screws, and galvanized fasteners Basic comprehension of reading blueprints Skilled in precise measurement, marking, and cutting with power tools. Proficient in the safe operation of all power tools, including circular saw, drill, sawzall, and miter box Competent knowledge of ladder use and safety procedures Skilled in operating pneumatic nail guns Able to read a level accurately in both plumb and level positions Capable of following layout instructions and accurately installing members Strong communication and teamwork abilities Good driving record is required Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced carpenters Must be able to climb ladders; operate hand and power tools of all types; use measuring tools; lift, push, pull or carry up to 50 pounds at a time and have the ability to work in various weather conditionsThe Dixon Group is an equal opportunity employer.
