Purpose of the Carpenter RoleAs a Carpenter you are taking ownership of helping to restore homes for the communities of people we serve. We're looking for someone who is committed to being a team player, has great communication skills and has a desire to grow their carpentry skills.We are looking for someone who
- Has 1 year of on-job experience in a verifiable construction role.
- Can function in a high stress environment that can change daily.
- Has excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Is self-motivated and able to work independently.
Key responsibilities and duties
- Must demonstrate knowledge of construction and job-site safety.
- Must be willing to learn framing, trim/cabinets/door, windows, exterior finishes, finish carpentry etc.
- Work on jobsites daily and always maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Communicate clearly and effectively to team members.
- Work with the Project Manager to complete approved scope of work and communicate any changes or issues.
- Work week is typically 40-45 hours a week, not expected to exceed 50 hours during busy times.
Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is a very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing. The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move items over 75 pounds.
- Candidate for employment must have a valid driver's license and a clear driving record.
- Candidate must pass a criminal background check to perform work on insurance related claims.
- Basic knowledge of smartphone/email technology.
