Overview:
The Carrier Settlement Specialist I works closely with brokerage and TMS operations groups, capacity management, and carriers to ensure timely and accurate payment processing. They will also be responsible for working the initial open payable items with carriers including payment discrepancies or other inquires. They will work with leads and managers on specific tasks that are assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely (within 3 days of support being received) and precise processing of carrier settlements, including review of shipping documents, tolerance assessments, and tariff evaluations.
- Examine carrier invoices to aid in the resolution of payment discrepancies.
- Timely and accurate processing of carrier QuickPay requests.
- Conduct follow-ups on outstanding items, including payment inquiries with carriers.
- Provide prompt and professional response to carrier requests for additional information and monitor shared email mailboxes.
- Work weekly internal/external agings.
- Reconcile and perform carrier related uploads and imports.
- Adapt to and learn new systems and processes as necessary.
- Follow controls and procedures provided by management.
- Identify missing documents and coordinate with relevant departments or carriers for retrieval.
- Perform ad hoc carrier settlement duties as needed.
- Utilize checklists to ensure completeness of settlements.
Qualifications:
- Transportation, Logistics, and/or Supply Chain knowledge preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Knowledge of Logistics Transportation Management Systems preferred.
- Must be able to work independently and function well in team setting.
- Strong internal and external customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment and communicate/work well with others.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1+ years of accounts payable experience preferred.
- 1+ years in logistics industry preferred.
- Previous experience in accounts payable, collections, credit or similar experience preferred.

The system will be objective and non-discriminatory.Pay Range: $15.69-$22.04
