Announcement Open Until Monday, December 30, 2024, at 5pmMinimum Wage: $16.73 per hourDept/Div: Family Treatment Court ---FLSA Status: Non-ExemptGeneral Definition of WorkPerforms difficult skilled human support work for programs designed to provide assessments, treatment plans and referral services through counseling, treatment, education and rehabilitation of clients, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Accountability Court Manager.Qualification RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable an individual with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Essential FunctionsConducts interviews, regularly scheduled meetings with court participants and track and record meeting requirements of participants.Provides on-going follow-up and case management activities for participants including service coordination of employment, medical and education, treatment plan assessments, transportation, advocacy and referrals.Develop and present training courses, workshops and/or orientation to program. Prepare educational materials and schedule training as required.Observes drug screenings as necessary.Prepares a variety of documents and information for court and advocate use; types court sanctions, phase up and graduation certificates; answers routine correspondence independently; distributes documents as appropriate.Encourages and promotes a culture of excellent customer service.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesThorough knowledge of the philosophies, principles and practices of the criminal justice and community corrections system with emphasis on rehabilitation guidance and counseling; Thorough knowledge of basic human psychology; Thorough knowledge of the philosophy, objectives, practices and techniques of counseling; thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations and security procedures of the community corrections system involved; ability to conduct interviews and investigations and analyze attitudes and behavior problems; ability to prepare records and reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Federal, State and County agency representatives, treatment providers, participants, staff and the general public.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree with coursework in sociology, psychology, or related field and considerable experience in substance abuse prevention, treatment or rehabilitation, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Physical RequirementsThis work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently requires sitting and repetitive motions and occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).Special RequirementsFavorable background history as determined by review of Local, State and Federal records.Valid driver's license in the State of Georgia with a favorable driving history (MVR).Last Revised: 09/14/2021
