Job Title: CCMA/Certified Phlebotomist Job Category: Medical Wage Classification: Hourly/non-exempt Location: North Bend/Coos Bay Position Type/Status: Full-time, benefitted Travel: Minimal Salary Range: $24.41 to $29.70/hr. DOE Reports to: Clinic Manager Manages Direct Reports: No HR Review & Approval: 11/13/24 Job Description Job Purpose: Function as a Certified MA in a team and mission-based setting to assist with direct patient care procedures and related tasks, through joint planning and problem solving, assisting in examination and treatment of patients under the direct supervision of the Clinic Manager Duties/Responsibilities:* Adheres to the spirit of Waterfall Community Health Center to remove barriers to care and our mission statement while performing assigned duties.* Demonstrate the core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Compassion, Partnership, and Collaborative Communication.* Participates in team huddles, work with the team to ensure appropriate pre-visit preparation including culturally and linguistically appropriate services.* Completes intake interview for new and returning patients according to established procedure including counseling patients/families on their role, and WCHC's role, in a medical home.* Prepares patients for examinations consistent with the purpose of the appointment.* Responsible for knowing and following clinical policy and procedure, including documenting all patient interactions in Epic in a manner consistent with professional standards.* Performs related duties necessary to ensure quality patient care as requested by supervisor, including addressing barriers when the patient has not met treatment goals.* Assists providers with exams of patients or any special procedures.* Processes phone calls, refills and MyChart communications from patients, routing as appropriate, and responding in a timely manner.* Administers treatments and perform screening tests at the direction of the provider.* Cleans and stocks rooms disinfect exam room tables, treatment and lab surfaces daily.* Performs supervised laboratory procedures as approved by the Laboratory Director (Chief Medical Officer).* Assists with documentation during patient visits, as needed.* Explain blood draw procedures to patients and answer any questions about the process.* Follow all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain sanitary work area.* Performs lab draws from patients.* Verifying patient information and labeling blood samples properly.* Prepares the testing room with proper tools.* Transfer samples to appropriate laboratories for testing.* Processes prior authorizations for medication and procedures in a timely manner* Performs any other duties needed to help drive our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization's Values.Education and Experience:* Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) credentials from the National HealthCare Association (NHA)* Certified Phlebotomist* 1 year healthcare experience* Proficiency with Microsoft Office products* Experience with electronic health records (EHR), such as EPIC, highly desirable* Non-violent Crisis Intervention Comprehensive training class completed within 6 months of hire and recertify prior to the expiration date.
