Provide supervision to the staff, children, and the families in the program; promote and provide a quality early care and education program. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
- Supervise the daily operations of the school.
- Communicate routinely with the Director regarding center issues, meetings, and staffing needs related to the Child Development Center.
- Operate within awarded State Preschool, General Child Care, and Child Care Food Program contracts through the California Department of Education and various grants at local, county and state agencies.
- Operate the Department of Education categorical programs in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Applicable legal citations for the programs include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Establish and organize program content, daily work schedules, developmental activities and curriculum, and guidance of children and staff.
- Ensure program is developmentally appropriate as per the standards of the Department of Education and the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
- Supervision of staff - in charge of hiring, training, scheduling, evaluations, promoting, and dismissal of staff under the direction of Program Director.
- Conduct orientation for new staff, newly enrolled families, volunteers, lab students, and/or work study students
- Provide written performance evaluations of staff per union contract and/or district guidelines.
- Work with staff on designing individual professional development plans and support their implementation.
- Consistently monitor practices implemented in classrooms and develop corrective action plans for identified in appropriate staff behaviors.
- Maintain Fiscal Program Box and site related manuals - Site Manual, Staff Manual, Curriculum Manual and Safety Manual.
- Conduct annual evaluation of program utilizing Desired Results at site level and participate in compiling results to contract (district) level by December 15 and ensure activity logs are maintained to monitor progress to be reported to DOE by June 1.
- Implement and conduct Categorical Program Monitoring as per quality standards of the Child Development Division.
- Coordinate Medical Administrative Activities (MAA) on a routine basis and conduct time surveys in accordance with MAA guidelines.
- Monitor health and safety assessments and maintain compliance with follow through of repairs (inside and outside of facility).
- Plan, attend, conduct, and document curriculum meetings on a weekly basis, staff meetings on a monthly basis, and quarterly in-service trainings (3 hour maximum).
- Responsible for ensuring developmental assessments and parent conferences of each child are conducted by staff within thirty (60) days of enrollment and at intervals established by Dept of Ed based on child's age.
- Responsible for the program's operation within the budgeted guidelines as established by the Director.
- Coordinate fiscal data with Director.
- Introduce health and social services to parents and children through representatives from private and/or public agencies.
- Prepare and type instructional materials, memos, letters, and other necessary school materials as established by the Child Development Division.
- Select and requisition supplies and equipment, maintenance requests, use of facilities requests and other inter-office or agency reports and forms upon program director's approval.
- Coordinate the activities of the Parent Advisory Committee, parents, and staff.
- Coordinate parent education component in collaboration with the program director.
- Promote the Child Development Center in the community and act as liaison between resource agencies in community, county, and state in collaboration with the program director.
- Attend conferences and/or in-services related to child development administration at least twice per year.
- Assist faculty and others, where appropriate, in the development of Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) and the determination of their effectiveness in helping students achieve their desired learning outcomes. In addition, provide leadership for the development of SLOs within their program areas of responsibility.

Education and experience: REQUIRED: Must hold a Child Center Permit at the Site Supervisor level and comply with five-year renewal of 105 hours of professional growth. AA degree or 60 units with 24 ECE units (including the core courses, Child Development, Child Family, & Society, and Program/Curriculum), plus 6 units administration and 2 units adult supervision. She/he is also expected to have 350 days (of 3+ hours per day within 4 years) of experience, including at least 100 days supervising adults ALTERNATIVE: BA or higher with 12 units of ECE, plus 3 units supervised field experience in ECE setting, Teaching or Administrative credential with 12 units of ECE, plus 3 units supervised field experience in ECE setting, or CTC approve training. PREFERRED: Bilingual in English and Spanish. Licenses and other requirements: Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate and Preventative Health Training Practices - (15 hours) Certificate or completion of ECE 18: Health, Safety, & Nutrition with a grade C or better or in the process of obtaining certificates or class.
