SHIFT- Rotating schedule Weekends plus 3 weekdays. SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the safe operation of class A vehicles. Class A vehicles have a GCWR (Gross Combination Weight Rating) of more than 26,000 lbs. and are a truck/trailer combination. This position is also responsible for thesafe pickup and delivery of product the vehicle is carrying. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: * Drive the vehicle into position for loading and unloading. * Assist with loading to make sure goods are correctly stowed. * Communicate with office. * Deliver and unload goods at required site. * Obtain a receipt for goods delivered. * Perform vehicle check daily. Vehicle report must be completed and submitted weekly. * Hand in all gas receipts/cards. * Maintain an odometer log daily. * Clean vehicle inside and out on daily basis. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Follow Whitsons Driver Policy Guidelines * Whitsons is not responsible for any traffic violations while you are driving the company vehicle and are on company time. If you receive a traffic violation, you will be responsible for the ticket. * Perform additional duties as assigned. * No other passengers permitted in vehicle unless authorized by manager. * Must adhere to all motor vehicle laws and regulations. * Must be cautious of bad weather conditions that can make their job hazardous * Report all mechanical problems and concerns to shipping Payrate: $25.00/hour REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES Education: * High school graduate or equivalent. * Must complete all Whitsons and government required training as required Other Qualifications, Experience and Competencies: * Class A driver's license in good standing. To be considered in good standing, the license must not have any moving violations or at fault accidents within 4 years. * Excellent driving record is required. * Knowledge of all state regulations regarding height and weight maximums and truck operation. * OSHA familiarity/training * On-the-job training is provided. * Basic English Reading * Able to pass background screening PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. WORK ENVIRONMENT: * The work is performed primarily in a manufacturing and warehouse environment, specifically the packing and warehousing areas * Driving in sitting position while in vehicle much of the workday is required. * Standing some of the workday is required. * Work requires movement in and out of vehicle and moving product in and out of vehicle. * Work requires movement in and out of store rooms, near heavy machinery and freezers * Exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold) due to cooking and refrigeration equipment. * The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
