We value each member of our diverse and talented team - because at Palmer Food Services, our associates are our unfair advantage.What We Value:Honesty & IntegrityService & ExcellenceCollaboration & TeamworkFamily & CommunityDependability & LoyaltyCompassionRoles and Responsibilities:Ensure compliance and enforcement of Federal Department of Transportation Regulations (DOT) and other safety standards.Participate in new driver training including correct paperwork procedures, proper delivering techniques, participate in scheduled annual driver skill evaluations.Under the guidance of Department Manager, ensure documentation of the coaching /disciplinary process.Facilitate open and consistent communication within the Transportation office team.Coordinate and record accident investigations, injuries, or unsafe conditions to improve safety.Exemplify customer service culture when interacting with internal and external clients.Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the changing needs of the Transportation Departments work schedule may require working an early shift and or staying for a late shift, with an occasional weekend day responsible for covering any truck/route that is a last minute call-in.Work with route planner closely.Participate when needed for the interview process.Collaborate with the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to ensure driver adherence to safety protocols, promote a culture of safety, and maintain compliance with relevant safety regulations across all driving operations.On-site delivery process review of customer and location.Cross trained in routing, fleet coordination, and department administrator duties.Review delivery errors such as Not On Time (N.O.T), mispicks, misdelivery.Work with night selection team on product selection, pallet building, loading.Qualifications:Minimum QualificationsClean CDL class A license, required.Minimum 1 year of CDL- A delivery experience.High School diploma or GED required.Demonstrate Leadership Ability.Effective communication skills, including both reading and writing in English.Thorough knowledge of DOT regulations.Basic computer knowledge.High attention to detail and accuracy.Team focused.Preferred QualificationsPrior supervisory experience in a transportation or logistics environment.Customer Service Experience.Supervisory Experience.Previous food service experience.Salary:$73,000- $80,000/ a yearPhysical Demands:The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by the Driver Supervisor to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
