The ideal candidate should have a valid CDL Class A license, a strong work ethic, and excellent organizational skills. Forklift experience is required.Available Shift: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday nights Start Time: 6:00pm - 4:00amPayrate: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour DOE
Key Responsibilities: - Operate a CDL-certified vehicle for scheduled Night Linehauls, including:
- Birmingham to Montgomery and back to Mobile: Pickup and drop-off on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights.
- Friday nights to Jackson, Mississippi: Pickup and drop-off with a return trip to Mobile.
- Serve as a backup driver for any additional Linehauls or routes as needed, ensuring all critical deliveries are completed.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain compliance with safety standards and company policies.
- Accurately log hours and maintain documentation in line with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and terminal management to address any adjustments to routes, delays, or issues that arise during runs.
Qualification and Requirements:
- Two Years' tractor trailer Class A experience is required!
- CDL (Commercial Driver's License): To be CDL driver, you'll need a valid CDL Class A license and must be able to safely operate and drive commercial vehicles, including trucks and vans, in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations
- Availability to work the specified schedule and flexibility to cover additional routes when required.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Must have the ability to read, write and understand English, and perform simple mathematical calculations with mental ability to handle receipts, read maps, road signs, maintain logs, etc.
- Must have the ability to properly operate a handheld device when required.
- Must have working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
- Must have knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, inspection and maintenance, and extended periods of time.
- Must meet or exceed the medical standards of the US Department of Transportation.
- Must have previous forklift experience.
Additional Information:This position offers a stable schedule with structured routes. The driver will also act as a backup for other Linehauls as needed. Benefits:
