If you hold a Class A or Class B driver's license, please complete the CDL application link below:Driver ApplicationJob Description:Position drives a tractor/trailer truck to make deliveries. Obtains proper authorization for all deliveries/pick-ups. Inspects vehicle for proper and safe operating conditions before and after each trip. Must maintain a DOT driver's log and adhere to all DOT regulations.Primary Duties:• Maneuver tractor and trailers into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned. • Collect delivery instructions from dispatch office, verifying instructions and routes. • Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations. • Check the truck to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. • Immediately report defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the tractor and/or trailer. • Drive the tractor and/or trailer to weigh stations before and after loading and along routes to document weights and to comply with state regulations. • Obtain receipts or signatures for services when required. • Always follow appropriate safety policies and procedures. • Inspect the load before and after to determine the physical condition. • Check conditions of trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage. • Read bills of lading to determine assignment details. • Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate. • Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices to travel in the safest possible manner. • Load and unload trucks, or help others with loading and unloading, operating any special loading related equipment on vehicles and using other equipment as necessary. • Observe OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations. • Subject to random D.O.T. drug screens and regulations. • Maintain a valid commercial driver's license. • Obey all traffic laws, including but not limited to driving within posted speed limits, stopping and looking for traffic at all stop signs. • Be prompt and courteous to the customer, co-workers, and everyone they interact with.This description of duties and responsibilities is intended to indicate the kind of tasks required of the position. It does not limit or exclude other duties not mentioned here but required for the successful completion of the job.Qualifications and Experience:• High School Diploma or equivalent • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL Class A or B) required • 21 years or older • Clean driving record with no moving violations • Alert, focused, and detail-oriented • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance • Proficient using GPS and other routing systems • Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful • High level of composure and good stress managementWorking Conditions and Physical Requirements:• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, handle, feel, talk, see and listen. The employee must be able to push levers forward and backwards. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, twist, kneel and crouch. Employee may sit for an hour or more at a time.• Ability to climb in and out of truck without assistance. • Exposure to extreme temperatures both hot and cold. • Exposure to sound or noise levels that may be distracting or uncomfortable. • Exposure to contaminants such as diesel fuel or exhaust. • Operate equipment, such as CB radios, and telephones, to exchange necessary information with dispatcher, branch manager, or other drivers.The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary duties of the job.
