**Job Description**Looking for an exciting opportunity with Garelick Farms? The NY distribution team is hiring Class A CDL drivers interested in short haul over the road opportunities! Join the team and be assigned to routes that service some out of state locations. Candidates hired will be provided overnight accommodations while performing the Rensselaer based position.GENERAL PURPOSEOperate a truck and tanker, tractor-trailer, or double tanker up to a week at a time without home time, which may require completing 34-hour resets while away from home domicile.Pick up or deliver products in a safe and timely manner to customers, distributors, etc., according to the delivery route schedule as determined by the dispatcher or supervisor.Demonstrate high standards of customer service.Communicate f frequently with peers, dispatchers, supervisors, and others.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOperate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and DFA rules, regulations, and policies, adhering to all safety practices.Deliver products or assets according to route schedule and customer delivery expectations in a safe and timely manner.Follow designated routes and schedules unless otherwise directed by supervisory personnelReport delivery delays to management due to road conditions, accidents, or breakdownsBased on route design, load and unload product as required at designated stops (varies from route to route)Communicate effectively and maintain good relations with customers and report any problems to dispatch, the supervisor or the managerEnsure and/or perform proper maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment used (tires, fuel, oil check, etc.) and maintain a clean vehicleComplete all daily paperwork fully and correctly each day. Maintain all log and trip records according to company policy and DOT guidelinesPerform load inventory and document condition of freight before departureAttend all driver workshops and training sessionsUse company supported applications or systems properlyRepresent DFA positively and professionally at all times during interactions with customers or other individualsThe requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. Other duties may be assigned as required.**Requirements**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred1 or more years of experience driving a tractor trailer, straight truck, or doubles trailer, within the last 5 years preferredMust meet minimum age requirementsMust meet DFA requirements for Motor Vehicle RecordsMust meet all DOT requirementsCertification and/or License valid Class A CDL; some drivers may be required to have a doubles endorsementKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESKnowledge of DOT procedures, rules, and requirementsSkill in proficient mobile device useSkill with math for calculating load size and recording accurate volume/weight measurementsGood organization and record keeping skillsAble to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingAble to be proactive in seeking solutions, taking appropriate steps to solve problemsAble to follow directions and meet deadlinesAble to interpret and apply company policiesAble to perform task and duties with minimal supervisionAble to take initiative in performing jobMust be able to read, write and speak EnglishAn Equal Opportunity Employer**Pay Range** 30
