The Central Dispatch role will coordinate the timely movement of freight based on due dates and driver availability while being as efficient and cost effective as possible. Provide direct instruction to drivers and communicate with Service Center personnel and other supervisors to effectively plan routes and keep freight moving in the system.Responsibilities:Project loads and pre-plan tripsMonitor partial trailer loads and advise when trailers need to be reloaded, back stripped or combinedProvide direct supervision to drivers including dispatching, assistance with motel and fueling instructions/payments and alternate routes when needed due to accidents, road closures or weather conditionsFile accident reports and aid drivers with personal injuries/illness; dispatch replacement vehicles when neededProvide exceptional customer service to everyone that contacts Central DispatchAbility to work 7 days on/7 days off schedule (12-hour shift)Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalent2 years of working experience as a regional dispatcher, truck driver, or in the transportation industryDemonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and dispatching softwareHigh attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of general DOT regulationsWorking Days:Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday,Saturday,SundayWorking Shift:PMWork Days and Shift are estimates and are subject to change, at any given time, based on job scheduling and/or business levels.
