Looking for a Central Office Power FIT Salary: $40 - $55 What you will be doing as a Central Office Power FIT
- Install, replace, or repair DC power equipment, batteries, and associated equipment.
- Perform additions, removals, and modifications on working equipment and circuits including circuit modifications,
- software additions or upgrades, power transition work, and addition or removal of batteries.
- Perform initial programming of DC power plant controllers. Input changes into existing DC power plant controllers as required.
- Perform battery testing and interpret results; address any notable deviations.
- Perform battery charging per customer's standards.
- Perform equipment test and turn-up.
- Install and/or modify cable racks, trays, and infrastructure.
- Pull cable into place per the Engineering documents, demonstrating proper lacing technique where required.
- Mark/correct office record drawings.
- Perform site surveys of power plant and battery infrastructure in telco Central Offices.
- Perform an assessment of AC and DC power risk related to the project and develop a plan to mitigate the risk, including
- arc flash hazard protection requirements.
- Write Method of Procedure (MOP) documents in adherence with Customer, CTDI, and industry standards and requirements.
- Perform a quality audit at completion of the job and ensure correction of any non-conformances.
What you will bring to the table as a Central Office Power FIT
- 6 years' experience (or equivalent) working in telco Central Offices. Knowledge of general procedures and safety
- practices in a carrier Central Office environment.
- Ability to read and interpret a Bill of Materials, Central Office Records and Engineering documents.
- Understand and comply with installer task descriptions and restrictions as defined within Telcordia GR-1275-CORE.
- Familiarity with AT&T TP 762330 Standard is ideal..
