Alternative High School RegistrarReports to : Principal Location: Futurus High School Bargaining Unit : Full-Time Teamsters Union FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Classification: Secretary II Job Summar y: This position facilitates the enrollment/withdrawal process of students, maintains accurate records, and shares information with various public entities, other districts, and school personnel. Required Qualifications: •High school diploma or equivalent •Two years of successful office experience, including office procedures, computer records maintenance, records reporting, and public relations •Demonstrated ability to be self-directed while working with a high degree of collaboration •Ability to communicate effectively, possess awareness (for self and others), listen actively, be patient, incorporate humor/lightheartedness into work, be empathic, possess a growth mindset, and be customer-service oriented •Ability to work in a calm, efficient, courteous manner under stress and exercise careful judgment, confidentiality, and tact in the performance of duties •Ability to work effectively under pressure •Ability to maintain a positive attitude •Ability to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with other staff, students, families, and community members •Ability to support the District's vision, mission, goals, and culture code including the belief that all students can succeed •Demonstrated proficient skills in technology use and ability to learn new programs quickly •Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations Preferred Qualifications: •Associate's Degree or higher •Ability to speak Spanish •Successful experience working with adolescents •Previous high school registrar experience •Successful experience working with people from diverse backgrounds •Skyward experience Essential Functions: •Establishes and maintains professional, positive relationships with students, families, other staff, and the community •Oversees the registration/withdrawal of students to ensure compliance and obtaining and/or forwarding necessary information •Manages student records (transcripts, test history, biographical information, etc.) to ensure that data is current and in compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines •Inputs student data (grade reports, schedules, courses, etc.) to ensure that records/transcripts are current and accurate •Monitors immunization and health records in conjunction with other school personnel to ensure records are current and in compliance with established guidelines •Creates communications that are clear, accurate, concise, and professional with proper grammar •Performs general secretarial procedures including maintaining an accurate filing system and performing tasks in a variety of computer programs including Skyward, Microsoft Office, and Google •Assists families in registering new students •Responds to inquiries from staff, the public, families, and/or students for the purpose of providing information and/or direction as may be required •Supports and reinforces school/district policies and procedures •Actively supports the District's vision, mission, goals, and culture code •Creates organizational systems and responds to changing student needs, meets deadlines, and prioritizes tasks when necessary •Answers the phone for the purpose of screening calls, transferring calls, responding to inquiries, and/or taking messages •Attends meetings and trainings as directed or appropriate •Under the guidance of certificated personnel, works with student assistants to maintain an efficient and professional office environment •Other duties as assigned Salary: $25.41 - $29.45 per hour, depending on experience Work schedule: 3.5 hours per day, Monday-Friday, 206 days per school year Benefits: Eleven paid holidays, twelve sick leave and three personal leave days; health benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and long-term disability insurance through SEBB ; State retirement through DRS ; other fringe benefits as allowed under the Full-Time Teamsters Collective Bargaining Agreement .
