Bluestem Village - a newly built state-of-the-art skilled nursing facility is designed with the Resident (villager) in mind that focuses on the needs of individuals in a home-like environment. We strive to create a nurturing environment for the elderly and provide care and love to a growing community. We will have Four independent non-traditional homes accommodating 14 villagers per house for a total licensed capacity of 56 beds. We will implement a new approach to long-term care that allows the villagers to thrive in their home with private rooms, baths and provided skilled nursing services in a person-centered environment. OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:The primary responsibility of your job position is to plan, organize, develop, coordinate and manage the overall operations of the nursing home in accordance with federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations and in accordance with Vivage Management policies and procedures. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Directs and implements safety practices including emergency preparedness
  • Recruits, trains and leads an effective professional team of managers who implement programs and services which reflect Vivage Management's values, goals and ethics, and which support financial growth and stability
  • Manages Workers Compensation program in coordination with the HR Director
  • Participates in governmental agency facility surveys
  • Chairs the facility's Performance Improvement Committee and assures appropriate follow-up
  • Ensures the communication and enforcement of villagers' rights; reviews villager complaints and grievances; prepares written reports of action taken; discusses with villager and family as appropriate
  • Develops and implements a marketing plan to maintain community viability and success; maintains occupancy and payor mix to maximize financial outcomes
  • Participates in various facility, corporate and external committees and task forces
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret relevant programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures
  • Keeps abreast of industry trends through continuing education, committee involvement, journals, networking and other available avenues
  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., necessary for providing quality care and maintaining a sound operation
  • Completes special projects as assigned
Other Duties:
  • Ability to travel to offsite meetings and educational events, including those requiring overnight stays
  • Must possess a valid and unrestricted Driver's License
  • Classification: Exempt
  • Maintains safe work environment and exhibits safe work practices
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
  • Ability to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays as necessary
  • Pass background, CAPs and pose no direct threat to the health or safety of individuals in the workplace
  • COVID Vaccine or Qualifying Exemption Required
THE MUST HAVES:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree) preferred in Health Care or related field; Eden Associate also preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of (3) three years supervisory experience (5) years preferred in a long-term care facility Experience as a Nursing Home Administrator (strongly preferred)
  • Nursing Home Administrator license in good standing in the state of Colorado preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer systems, system applications, and other office equipment
  • Strong financial management skills
  • Working knowledge of long-term care state and federal regulations, Medicare, Medicaid, employment law, OSHA and Workers Compensation
  • Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to hospital and nursing facility administrative procedures
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check as well as Colorado CAPS background check.
