JOB DESCRIPTION: The Certified Medical Assistant provides patient care and assists the medical provider in any necessary duties or responsibilities. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Duties and responsibilities of the Certified Medical Assistant are:
- Assesses the full scope of patient needs and assist medical provider when meeting with the patient.
- Provides a safe environment for patients and employees through identifying/correcting/reporting health and safety hazards.
- Cooperates with distribution of resources to maintain a therapeutic environment.
- Maintains interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors and co-workers.
- Accountable for medical practice through planned and continuous professional growth and development.
- Uses knowledge and judgement needed to meet the medical needs of patient.
- Assist with calling in medications for family practice patients.
- Maintains Prior Authorizations and Referrals for medical services when needed.
- Assists with EKG and PFT testing within the office.
- Assist with collections in the lab.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate from an accredited medical assisting program preferred
- Minimum 1 year medical experience.
