Job Description
- Reports controlled substance forms needed promptly to charge nurse.
- Accurately and safely prepares and administers oral, ophthalmic, optic, nasal, rectal, and topical medications prescribed by the physician.
- Verifies the identity of the resident before administering medication or treatment; checks the medication three times before administering for correct resident, drug, and dosage, form, route, and accurate time and frequency (e.g. 1 hour after meals)
- Ensures that all medications administered are properly labeled.
Qualifications: Qualifications
- One (1) year experience as a Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant
- Current State of Maryland Medicine Aide Certification
- Current State of Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant Certification
