As a Certified Medication Assistant at Sheridan Medical Lodge, you will play a vital role in providing direct care to our residents under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. Your responsibilities will include:
- Dispensing oral and topical medications to residents per physician's order, and document properly.
- Observe residents for symptoms and conditions that could be related to medication interactions, adverse drug reactions or medication side effects and report any problems to the nurse.
- Properly record medications that were given for the day and dosage in the Medication Administration Record (MAR)
- Monitor medications to ensure adequate accountability measures are taken when medication is ordered, received in the facility, administered, and at shift change as required applicable state/federal regulations.
- Demonstrate awareness of proper infection control practice by using Universal Precautions and following policies and procedures, Including OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogen Standards
- Assist with Resident care as needed.
- Must be willing to work as a Certified Nurse Aide when needed.
Qualifications:
- Must have a current Medication Aide Certification in the State of Texas
- Must be in good standing on the Nursing Assistant Registry in the State of Texas and the Nurse Aide Misconduct Registry.
Work Schedule: 6:00am-2:00pm 2:00pm-10:00pm Rotating Schedule As assigned shift may include holidays, weekends and nights
