POSITION SUMMARY: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Nurse Specialist - Bone Marrow Transplant. In this role, the successful candidate Supports Departments of Nursing quality and safety programs. Provides quality improvement facilitation and support for nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams undertaking improvement initiatives. Supports evidence based practice and nursing research within the Departments of Nursing. Participates in monitoring of regulatory compliance, identifies opportunities for improvement, and assists patient care units with development and implementation of improvement strategies. Participates in occurrence reviews, complaint investigation, RCAs, and FMEAs and assists in facilitation of the corrective action plans with nursing leadership and staff. Assists with benchmarking activities through National Database for Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI), University Healthsystem Consortium (UHC) and other organizations as appropriate.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify you must have a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of New York. Bachelors Degree in Nursing; Master's Degree in Nursing or related field required or in progress. Minimum of 5 years of recent clinical experience in acute care nursing with demonstrated leadership skills. Excellent writing, editing, and graphic skills; excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail; possesses good understanding of performance improvement methodology; self-directed, understands change management, professional practice, project management, and current issues and trends in nursing and health care. Computer expertise in Microsoft Office applications and expertise in analyzing, interpreting and presenting data using graphs, tables, etc. Certification in speciality area desirable. Membership in relevant professional organizations.
Apheresis experience is preferred
Physical stamina, manual dexterity, visual and aural acuity to perform responsibilities.. REQUIRED LICENSES: Registered Nurse License-NYS
