Responsibilities
Responsible for specific duties such as: HVAC refrigeration controls and electrical. Will perform a variety of general mechanical and preventative maintenance duties as well as inspections servicing repair and overhaul of equipment facilities and grounds.
* Responsible for operation and maintenance of steam-generating equipment and distribution systems. Accurately and consistently follows codes and procedures when operating and maintaining steam-generating equipment. Is sensitive to
the financial viability of the hospital by operating the steam-generating equipment as a responsible steward of our resources. Accurately and consistently completes daily logs and records. Accurately and consistently completes daily water analysis of all facility equipment. In the spirit of teamwork, patiently trains and directs department staff. Willingly solicits information from vendors and manufacturer representatives to remain current with technology.
* Maintains medical gases distribution system. Effects repairs in compliance with codes and regulations. Ensures records are maintained in compliance with regulatory agencies.
* Responsible for operation and maintenance of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems. Operates HVAC systems while being sensitive to the needs of patients and staff. Sensitive to the financial viability of the hospital. Operates and maintains the HVAC systems as a responsible steward of our resources. Accurately and consistently completes daily logs and records. In the spirit of teamwork, patiently trains and directs department staff. Willingly solicits information from vendors and manufacturer representatives to remain current with technology.
* Maintains proper operation of all plumbing and electrical systems. Keeps careful and timely maintenance of all plumbing and electrical systems to ensure proper operation with minimum inconvenience to patients and staff.
* Performs preventative maintenance tasks on scheduled basis. In accordance with industry standards and prescribed procedures, completes assigned preventative maintenance on hospital equipment.
Qualifications
Minimum:
* Must possess a current certificate of completion for Refrigerant Transition and Recovery
* Successful completion of a four-year skilled trade training program OR equivalent training experience.
* Must possess and maintain a valid California driver's license in good standing
* Must have a minimum of five years of hands-on HVAC industrial experience.
* Ability to work in awkward positions for prolonged periods such as: kneeling bending confined spaces overhead and from ladders and scaffolds
* Ability to work any assigned shifts as required.
Preferred:
* High school graduate or equivalent
* Substantial knowledge of heating ventilating air conditioning pneumatic and electrical controls and electrical distribution systems and operation
* Ability to read and understand blueprints
* Strong communication skills both verbal and written
* Ability to work effectively in emergency and stressful situations
