Description:

Saint Alphonsus Medical Center is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech (CST) to support our Main Operating Room in beautiful Baker City, Oregon.

This PRN position will come with a great work-life balance; the schedule is anticipated to be 10-hour shifts working 6:30am-5pm (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). No call required.

As a CST with Saint Alphonsus Health System, you will prepare surgical procedures for physicians and surgical staff under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will be responsible for complying with safety policies, recognizing & correcting breaks in aseptic technique, performing equipment checks for proper functionality, and reviewing/updating surgeon preference cards. You will also gown and glove yourself and other members of the team.

Our ideal candidate has the knowledge and skills to care for patients of all ages while communicating effectively with surgical teams and supervisory staff. They will have the ability to anticipate and prioritize surgeon needs, as well as independently manage instrument, sponge, and sharp counts for all procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the NBSTSA required.
  • Basic Life Support for HealthCare Provider (BLS/HCP) certification from either AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network required.
  • One year of scrub experience in an acute care hospital setting is preferred.
