*Job Responsibilities** Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of patient care in the operating room, including prepping, draping, positioning, and moving patients.* Exhibits a working knowledge of surgical procedures and provides necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment.* Responsible for setting up and maintaining sterile fields.* Shares responsibility with the registered nurse for accurate counts of instruments, sponges, needles, and sharps.* Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of medications used during surgical procedures and ensures accurate identification and labeling.* Handles specimens with expertise and care.* Assists the surgical team with room turnover and preparation for procedures.* Ensures the correct use of implants/prostheses for each procedure.* Participates in surgical site and patient verification during the timeout procedure.* Physically capable of meeting the demands of the position.* Engages in current and future training programs to support the OR in providing new and improved services.*Required:** FA (First Assist) experience required; FA certification preferred* Orthopedic experience necessary.*Required Certifications:*BLS, CSTJob Types: Travel nursing, ContractPay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 per weekMedical Specialty:* Orthopedics* SurgerySchedule:* 5x8* 8 hour shift* Day shiftExperience:* First Assist: 1 year (Required)* Orthopedic surgery: 1 year (Required)* Surgical tech: 3 years (Required)License/Certification:* CST (Required)* Certified Surgical First Assistant (Preferred)* BLS Certification (Required)Work Location: On the road
