Our client, a leading biotech company, is seeking a Vice President of Finance to take charge of financial strategy, operational success, and support their mission to transform lives through groundbreaking science.
As a key member of the senior leadership team, the VP of Finance will report directly to the President and oversee strategic financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and risk management. This role will require close collaboration across departments to ensure financial alignment with business goals and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and present strategic financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to senior leadership, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.Partner with R&D, Commercial, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to drive financial strategies that support growth and innovation.Analyse financial performance, market trends, and operational data to provide actionable insights for decision-making.Support mergers, acquisitions, and fundraising initiatives in partnership with corporate development and senior leadership.Optimise resource allocation, oversee procurement strategies, and mitigate risks while maintaining operational efficiency.Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure financial health and operational success.Ensure all financial activities are compliant with industry regulations and best practices.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA/MBA preferred).12+ years of finance experience within the biotech or life sciences industry.5+ years of leadership experience, with expertise in FP&A, financial reporting, and global operations.Proven success in supporting mergers, acquisitions, and high-growth environments.Exceptional analytical, strategic planning, and leadership skills.Experience in building and leading high-performing teams, with a focus on talent development and succession planning.Willingness to travel as required.The annual salary for this permanent role is between $230,000-$300,000. The exact compensation offered will be influenced by factors including geographical location, relevant education and certifications, skill set, experience, and individual performance.
