Job Summary:

The Physical Therapy Program in the School of Health Professions at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (12 MO) and Program Chair (Tenure Track). Responsibilities for the position will include, but are not limited to:

• Program leadership
• Management of daily program operations
• Budget management
• Program assessment and improvement
• Strategic planning
• Accreditation
• Curriculum development and modification
• Faculty/staff hiring and retention
• Student recruitment and retention
• Teaching
• Research
• Mentoring and faculty development
• Service (to SOHP, University, profession)

Required Qualifications:

• PhD in Physical Therapy, Education, or related field.
• New York State Physical Therapist Licensure.
• 5+ years of full-time experience in physical therapy academia.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Board certification in a PT specialty.
• Record of research productivity (i.e., publications and grants).
• 3+ years in a leadership role in physical therapy academia.
• Experience in preparing for CAPTE accreditations.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and qualifications
