Chassis Receiver Summary: As a Chassis Receiver, you will play a vital role in the initial stage of our supply chain process by receiving and inspecting incoming chassis components. Your primary responsibility will be to verify the accuracy and condition of received chassis units, ensuring they meet our quality standards and specifications. You will collaborate closely with logistics, procurement, and quality assurance teams to facilitate the smooth and efficient flow of chassis components into our operations. Chassis Receiver Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming chassis shipments and compare received units against purchase orders, invoices, or packing lists.
- Inspect chassis components for damages, defects, or discrepancies and document findings accurately.
- Record relevant information such as serial numbers, batch codes, and inspection results in the company's inventory management system.
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse personnel to ensure timely and efficient unloading, storage, and organization of received chassis units.
- Communicate any discrepancies or quality issues with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to implement inspection protocols and standards for incoming chassis components.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area and adhere to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Assist with inventory counts, audits, and reconciliation activities as needed.
Chassis Receiver Required Education, Knowledge & Skills:
- Proven experience in quality control, inspection, or a related field, preferably in automotive manufacturing or transportation.
- Familiarity with chassis components, shipping and receiving procedures, inventory control systems, and quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or abnormalities in components.
- Proficiency in using computerized inventory management systems and basic office software.
- Proficiency in using measurement tools such as tape measures.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of safety protocols and practices in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in automotive or mechanical engineering is preferred.
- 2-3 years in a Quality Control or inspection role.
Chassis Receiver Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently safely and successfully within the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly in person and on telephone and with vendors, delivery drivers, and customers.
- Lift up to 50lbs unassisted.
- Constant outside, climbing, walking, standing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, crawling, and kneeling.
Work Environment: Manufacturing work environment that has frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, noise intensity level, proximity to moving mechanical parts and exposure to weather.
