Job Description :

Principal Chemical Engineer

We are seeking a Principal Chemical Engineer to lead the design, development, and improvement of chemical processing systems. This role focuses on guiding and mentoring engineering teams, conducting research, designing innovative solutions, and ensuring the safe and efficient implementation of complex chemical processes. You will be working with systems that may involve hazardous, toxic, or high-pressure environments. Your expertise will drive improvements in plant efficiency and safety, and you'll collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of industrial processes, including chemical reactor selection and design, distillation systems, separations systems, and other chemical process technologies.
  • Apply scientific, mathematical, and engineering principles to solve complex challenges and improve operational efficiency.
  • Develop, propose, implement, and review plans to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Conduct research, observe production processes, and propose improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Offer technical guidance and mentorship to team members while overseeing troubleshooting and the safe execution of projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including those without a technical background, to ensure smooth communication and project execution.
  • Utilize process simulation software, such as ChemCad or Epcon, to optimize designs and conduct ongoing research.
  • Maintain strong project management skills to handle multiple complex projects while adhering to safety regulations and standards.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of relevant industry experience (chemical, food, or pharmaceutical sectors).
  • Proven experience in designing industrial processes, such as reactor design, distillation, separations, or other chemical systems.
  • Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and regulations for process design and implementation.
  • Hands-on experience with chemical process modeling and simulation tools, with a preference for ChemCad or Epcon.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and collaborate effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to balance technical and operational challenges.
  • Experience in process scale-up, from laboratory to production environments.
  • Knowledge of process hazard analysis (PHA) and process safety management (PSM).
  • Experience with skid-based system design is a plus.
  • Ideally holds a Chemical Engineering P.E. license.

Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
  • Annual bonus opportunities, plus a Long-Term Incentive Plan.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer to take on new challenges and make impactful contributions to the team. If you are ready to take the next step in your career, we encourage you to apply!
