They are seeking an experienced Chemical Operator to join their team. This role will involve producing electrolyte on-site by mixing dry and wet chemicals according to a recipe and monitoring the reaction to completion while complying with all environmental and health safety standards.
REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or equivalent
Prior experience in a dynamic chemical manufacturing environment
Sit down forklift certification or ability to achieve certification upon hire
The ability to use computer systems to monitor chemical reactions
Familiarity with both English and Metric system measurements
Ability to understand and adhere to environmental health and safety standards
Capability of lifting 50 pounds frequently
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
PREFERENCES
Familiarity with the software system, Oracle
Experience with exothermic reactions
Background and/or experience with chemistry
JOB DUTIES
Weigh, process, and blend dry and wet ingredients according to specified quantities for electrolyte production in our iron flow batteries
Continuously monitor the chemical reaction, ensuring that parameters such as temperature remain within production and safety guidelines
Move 50-pound buckets of ingredients manually and with a forklift
Strictly adhere to safety protocols and health guidelines at all times
Identify and troubleshoot any production process issues in collaboration with supervisors and engineering
Promptly report on-site accidents and injuries to senior management and Environmental Health & Safety (EH& S)
Oversee production quality and recommend process improvements.
Wear appropriate safety gear, including a respirator and, when needed, a full-body protective suit
Ensure safe handling and transportation of chemicals
Collaborate with supervisors and engineering to maintain equipment functionality.
Store and label chemicals correctly
Keep accurate records of production data
SCHEDULE
SWING: Monday-Friday: 2:15pm-10:45pm. Overtime optional.
